The Book and The Cook
Last night, we attended the Book and the Cook, Philadelphia's foremost culinary event, now through March 26, 2006, at Upstairs at the DiBruno's Bros., 1730 Chestnut Street. We met Nancy Lazarus and Laura Branca , authors and chefs, of the Moosewood Restaurant, Ithaca, New York. They gave us a cooking demonstration, including a multi-course service, and complimentary wine and coffee service. They wrapped up the evening signing their book, "Simple Supper" and answering questions. We all had a GREAT time. The meals included:
- Asparagus Avgolemono
- Peppercorn Citrus Marinated Feta
- Fettuccine with Fresh Herbs
- Chocolate Ricotta Pudding
In all, 67 cookbook authors will cohost dinners at 56 area restaurants.
