Dianne Reeves and Trio
On, Friday, February 2, 2007, we saw Dianne Reeves -pianist Peter Martin, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Greg Hutchinson - and Trio (Jason Moran and the Bandwagon -- opening group) at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall. She is one of the pre-eminent jazz vocalists in the world today. Recently, she appeared and performed in George Clooney's Good Night, and Good Luck. The film chronicles Edward R. Morrow's confrontation with Senator Joseph McCarthy.
She covered a wide range of songs from an old R&B chestnut, "Just My Imagination," to a Sinatra standard, "One For My Baby."
She is a national treasure.
